Michigan's Zera Medical Partners with Colon Cancer Coalition at Detroit 5K to Champion Colorectal Cancer Screening
Zera Medical, a Michigan-based medical device company, partnered with the Colon Cancer Coalition as a sponsor of the Detroit "Get Your Rear in Gear" 5K run/walk, joining local clinicians, patients, and advocates to raise awareness of colorectal cancer screening. The event marks the company's deepening engagement with Michigan's gastroenterology community ahead of a U.S. clinical pilot planned for the fourth quarter of this year.
The initiative comes at a vital time for public health. Published research indicates that 40% or more of eligible adults delay or avoid colonoscopy because of the burden of traditional preparation. Zera Medical is addressing this barrier with ZeraFlow, a clinic-controlled, nurse-supervised bowel preparation system designed to replace multi-day, high-volume at-home laxative regimens with a streamlined 30-to-40-minute process at the clinic immediately prior to the procedure.
At the event, Zera Medical showcased its Michigan-rooted presence and connected with local gastroenterology partners and patient advocates.
